These are some of the questions that I get asked regularly about hypnosis.

Table of Contents

  1. What does it feel like.
  2. Will I go to sleep
  3. Will you take over my mind.
  4. Can I get stuck in hypnosis
  5. Will I remember what you say to me
  6. What sort of things can you treat

What does it feel  like

Mostly it feels like a very  relaxed state.  Your body will become very relaxed and you will feel comfortable and warm and safe.  You may get a sensation of floating or sinking.  People often describe a time distortion in which it feels as if time has passed very quickly.  Most people can't believe that they have been in hypnosis for about an hour.

Will I go to sleep.

No, hypnosis is not really like sleep.  You will know what is happening to you all of the time.  You will be able to hear sounds both inside and outside of the room.

Will you take over my mind

No.  There is absolutely no question of me controlling your mind.  If I were to suggest to you something that went against your beliefs or principles, you would simply disregard it.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis

No.  You will find that as I give you an instruction to become wide awake and alert this is exactly what will happen.  In the outside event that you do go to sleep, I will simply watch over you while you become awake naturally, provided of course I don't have a client waiting

Will I remember what you say to me.

Most likely you will remember everything that has been said to you.  You will not go out of my office with any kind of amnesia.  But just as you may find yourself not paying attention, when you are listening to someone or watching TV you may also find that your mind wanders off while I am talking to you and that you don't listen to everything that I say. That perfectly normal and doesn't present any problems.

What can you treat

Almost anything that is a product of the  mind can be treated using hypnosis and hypnotherapy. See benefits page for more info
