Hypnosis is a state which is natural to both man and animals.
Imagine you are driving on a long or familiar journey, you reach your destination,
and yet you have no memory of passing a
certain landmark. Or
remember a time when you were being entertained
by something, like a television program
or a good book,
and time seemed to pass more quickly than usual.
You were are a state of hypnosis! A very
relaxed state, in which one part of the mind can deal with the automatic
processes such as driving or turning a page and yet the imagination is
free to roam and explore different possibilities.
The therapist utilises
this natural phenomena to guide you into a relaxed yet focussed state of
mind, like that between sleeping and waking, in which the imaginative and
feeling part of your mind is more active than the critical part of your
mind. When administered by a professionally qualified therapist it
is a safe yet exceptionally powerful tool to help therapist and client
identify, understand, and correct the root cause of a problem.
Hypnosis is at the same
time a feeling of calm relaxation coupled with an enhanced awareness.
It is common place to be able to recognise and place sounds around you,
however these sounds will not disturb the hypnotic state, rather they can
often enhance the state of calmness. Whilst relaxed the part of the
mind called the critical factor (the part that is argumentative) is bypassed
and in this state a person will be more inclined to take onboard
suggestions, to make these suggestions even more effective the practitioner
will have a short discussion with the client so to understand exactly which
behaviours they wish to begin using and which which will help them
create the life that they wish to live.

What is Hypno-analysis? |
|
|
Hypno-analysis
at Telford Hypnotherapy is based on the premise of cause and effect, and
it is fast becoming recognised as one of the most powerful forms of
therapy available. One of its major advantages is that it is a non
invasive therapy in which the client is guided to find the root
cause of their problem, by exploring their own thoughts feelings and
experiences.
Hypno-analysis
is used when the cause of a psychological problem is deeply rooted, to
bring it to light in a gentle yet effective way that can be both a
surprising yet liberating moment of enlightenment for the client.
Once identified, the originating cause of the problem loses it
power to fuel the symptom, which simply disappears.
You will
be guided into a very relaxed and comfortable state of mind using
hypnosis, from here you will be invited to explore your thoughts and
feelings. As with suggestion, the therapy is completely
confidential. Analysis typically takes between six and ten
sessions, each session costing £45. |

What is suggestion therapy? |
| |
Suggestion therapy usually takes place where the client wants to change
habits such as smoking or nail biting. Or negative, self limiting thoughts
and behaviours. It can be used to affect weight loss or gain, and can help
to set an improved pattern of eating for life. It is also extremely
beneficial for bringing about a sense of calm, and confident relaxation both
prior to, during and after suggestion. Suggestion therapy is very powerful
and can bring about permanent change.
The client is given suggestions for progressive relaxation. When in a
very relaxed state suggestions are then given to the desired effects.
These suggestions are often given by the client to the therapist to
integrate into the suggestion therapy. Suggestion therapy is a very
pleasant and relaxing process. Those people who simply want to introduce
some calm and relaxation into a busy life style, will find this type of
therapy to be most beneficial. It is informal, non invasive and does
not require the client to remove any clothing, other than perhaps their
shoes.
