Phobias

A phobia is the fear of an object or thing which poses no specific danger. The person in the grip of the phobia is aware that the danger is not real and that the phobia is an external symbolic representation of an internal anxiety.
Phobias aren't just extreme fears; they are irrational fears. You may be able to ski the world's tallest mountains with ease but feel panic going above the 5th floor of an office building.
Common phobia are
- Fear of sick or of being sick
- Fear of flying
- Fear of heights
- Fear of public speaking
- Fear of needles
- Fear of rodents
This list is by no means exhaustive so if you have a phobia that does not appear here don't think that you are unusual. The chances are I have heard of it many times before
